Retinue - The Foot Soldiers

After a bit of further tweaking, now have the first retinue of foot soldiers comprising one knight, 14 men at arms, 4 crossbowmen and two archers. I went for a simple shield design ( I can always overpaint and use shield transfers in the future if I want to).

Sorting out mounted figures ...

I acquired some more unpainted mounted figures recently; today I sorted them out and also the ones I had already to have the best combination/selection. I ended up with 7 mounted figures (some spare bits and riders have been put to one side for later)..

Basing stuff ..

Started the work of sorting through acquired figures and sorting out basing.  Have re-based most of the figures from multiple bases, as singles.

The 'outlaws' for the Sackwald forest have been kept as is, given a final touch in and some extra grass scatter added to their bases.

More figures obtained - archers and knights

New Acquisitions

Picked up a couple of lots of figures off Ebay, some OOP Conquest Miniatures and Mindstalker Miniatures.

I used the best of both to provide 6 more archers and 6 more knights;  most figures fixed to clear plastic bases and a washer the same size underneath to give them some weight.

Men-at-Arms

One thing I am short of are a some more suitable men-at-arms (both on foot and mounted). WIll see what can found, one option is to sculpt and cast my own.

Basing

Have decided on a scheme for the rest of the project - all foot figures on single bases on 30mm washers, if needed will add small carboard lift to raise the figure height if they are a bit smaller; cavalry will be on a rectangular base.
