King, Knights and porters...

Knights' porters..(WIP)

 Made up some porters to carry Knights' kit on hilly/wooded terrain - perhaps on a questing expedition to the Sackwald forest....

(split coconuts stowed out of site, although perhaps used on open ground for that horse riding feel😀 )

Castle building ...

A Simba Falcon Castle (recently donated to the project - thankyou ! ) ....

The square Simba castle towers fit in well with my existing stock of walls and gatehouses. (Some of which came from a Simba King Castle).

I doubled up the Simba wall sections for stability, giving 5 sections and a gate section; the keep is fine and I used some spare parts to modify the rear wall.

The Simba castle parts painted and mixed in with some round towers - trial setup for a small castle....

Wagon attendants ...

I have a good selection of wagons that would suit medieval games - made up 4 wagon drover/attendants using some Old Glory anglo-saxons to go with...

a couple of the wagons with a small escort ... (roll on a wagon train game at some time ...)

Knights and Mounted Retinue

Two mounted knights with their dismounted equivalent foot figures, plus four mounted retinue..

Retinue - The Foot Soldiers

 After a bit of further tweaking, now have the first retinue of foot soldiers comprising one knight, 14 men at arms, 4 crossbowmen and two archers. I went for a simple shield design ( I can always overpaint and use shield transfers in the future if I want to).

Sorting out mounted figures ...

 I acquired some more unpainted mounted figures recently; today I sorted them out and also the ones I had already to have the best combination/selection. I ended up with 7 mounted figures (some spare bits and riders have been put to one side for later)..
